The Druckenmiller Agency was established in 1936. The first office was located in a small, second story room on Water Street.  The founding agent, William W. Druckenmiller, employed a part-time secretary.

In the agency's formative years, the primary emphasis was the placement of automobile and home insurance.  Later activity included the writing of Life and Medical coverage, followed by Commercial, Farm, Marine, and Fidelity and Surety Bonds.  Certain agency policies were developed over 70 years ago that remain in existence today - represent only financially sound companies that are progressive in offering coverages to meet the client's needs for protection of their property and financial security, as well as excellent claim service.

In 1977, a son, Paul joined the agency and in 1983, became a full partner. Paul purchased sole ownership of the business in 1993.

In 2009, a second office location was added in Pemberville, Ohio.  This agency is known as the Samson & Smith Insurance Agency, LLC and was oringinally founded in 1931.

Druckenmiller Agency, Ltd. is a member of the Professional Insurance Association of Ohio and currently, the only independent insurance agency in Oak Harbor.
